A test to know if I truly know a genuine watch

 Few years ago , I got a call from a guy who I didn’t know at that time was into watches big time , he decided to come see me , about some of his watches , I didn’t know he came to test my ability and to know if I recognized good watches .He came with a clone Rolex watch at first. Seeing the watch I was skeptical, my very first time meeting a clone watch , it looked exactly like a real Rolex submariner, I took it and I was just staring at it , same body , same features which eventually I got to see differences, then I opened the back case ! Lo and behold , immediately I said , it looks like they’ve changed your movement, this isn’t the original Rolex movement in here 😄, cause what he said was he took it overseas for servicing. He left pretending to be angry with the person who serviced it last, so I thought 💭 , the following day , he called me and said , “you know watches , I came to test you” and the following week he brought in more watches for servicing, Rolex and Tudor watches , after that , I got to know asides him buying the original watches , he is into the research of watches and we became friends.

The whole essence of this, is the fact that I didn’t even know he came around to test me, all I put in was my love for watches , before this , I’ve had the pleasure of meeting Mrs adejumo who made me meet a Rolex watch for the first time , my early days as a watch repairer, where i opened a Rolex watch for the first time and fell inlove with the movement, honestly I did , it was a female date just rolex watch two tone chain . I just kept admiring and studying it , think it gave me more perspective into good watches , then came omega watches , I fell more in love with their automatic movements more than that of Rolex’s movements. I can’t be carried away with a good watch without not wanting to see its movement actually 😄
