THE REPLICA SIDE OF WATCHES PART 2

When it comes to repair , a replica automatic watch carries a familiar movement, a China automatic movement to be precise, thinking about it , the Chinese man is able to produce a movement that can either damage easily or last long . When I entered into the world of watches , I didn’t really know the difference between replica and authentic, I just admire fine watches, early days of watch knowledge , I sold replica watches before going into watch repairs , talking as far back as 2010, I still have a replica automatic breitling watch I bought 2011, still working well till date but ofcourse the body is worn out and rusty, but the engine is still keeping to time.  While some , back then , they come in new and I’m having issues with either  features on dials or it’s damaged already , had to quickly take them out for repair so I can sell and make my profit back. This obviously drove me into learning how to repair watches, which opened my eyes more into the knowledge of watches, trust me if you come across authentic watches, you won’t want a replica watch , I’ve met people who when they got authentic watches, threw away or gave out their replica watch collection😅. There was a case of a guy who got a breitling watch as a gift and later wanted to sell, so he sent a photo to me to verify if it’s authentic, from the photo I could detect it’s not original but wasn’t sure , he later brought it to me . Oh, seeing it live , I immediately said it’s not original, to prove my point further, I brought out the movement and lo and behold,it’s not real at all. He didn’t say anything till today , he just stood up and left the watch with me . How sad 😞  I’ve had several cases with Rolex watches more , where high grade replica Rolex watches (that’s what it’s termed)will be brought to me to authenticate and it turns out they are not real , some of the watches are brought in from overseas aswell . 

The truth remains , trust me, when you see an original watch movement and a replica watch movement, there are huge differences ,my God! I remember the first time I came across a Rolex genuine movement, oh wow 😯 I was pleased with Rolex company, I admired , observed, studied , same goes for Frederique Constantine movements and Omega just to mention a few, cause I’ve lost counts now. The fact still remains that to get replica movement part is scarce and expensive in the watch parts market, to get the authentic watch movement part is more scarce and on the very high side here in my country , but hey , we move as our common slang says 😃

A test to know if I truly know a genuine watch

 Few years ago , I got a call from a guy who I didn’t know at that time was into watches big time , he decided to come see me , about some of his watches , I didn’t know he came to test my ability and to know if I recognized good watches .He came with a clone Rolex watch at first. Seeing the watch I was skeptical, my very first time meeting a clone watch , it looked exactly like a real Rolex submariner, I took it and I was just staring at it , same body , same features which eventually I got to see differences, then I opened the back case !
